Product Description |
| In the wise and winsome tradition of Viking Studio's popular Pug Shots, here is a humorous and affectionate photographic essay on "man's best friend"—with all his—or her—idiosyncrasies. In more than ninety images of forty- eight dogs, these delightful photographs of various breeds and personalities are alphabetized by each dog's name—from Amigo, alert and faithful, to Vinney of the innocent eyes and telltale dirt-covered coat. Juxtaposed are their dictionary-style "doggie definitions," captions as evocative, playful, and telling as the pictures they accompany, as the dogs they characterize. Ever wonder why dogs prefer people food to dog food? Chase a car yet cringe at a vacuum cleaner? Or hate a bath but love a mud puddle? For all dog lovers who will recognize their own pets among these charming canines, Dogtionary is the perfect holiday gift. |

Personality PLUS: The Photos; The Definitions; The Book
|

| Personality is the best word to describe "Dogtionary." Plus, it's simply beautiful. The photographs, as art, are unique in style and perspective. The dogs, as characters, are as recognizable and varied as cousins at a family reunion. The definitions are a chuckle, a hoot, an insight, a knowing. Even the book itself - lusciously printed on heavy cream paper, with a rich satin cover - has so much personality that you reach for it again and again. Everyone who's seen "Dogtionary" on my table has the same reaction. "That book is number one on my holiday list. I'm giving it to 'dog' people, to 'cat' people and to 'no pet' people too." |

| This is the perfect book for any dog lovers you know. There are lots of cute dog/cute cat books out there, but the photographs in Dogtionary possess a certain familiarity and simple beauty. It is the way we see our dogs, everyday, around the house. The dogs in these pictures are not posed in some unnatural setting, they are just caught in the act of being themselves. It really is a beautiful book. |

| This is a wonderful, fun, charming book that is a perfect addition to any coffee table. The book is a must have for dog lovers. The emotions captured by Sharon show the true soul of the dog. And, the captions are hilarious. Once you read it, you will want to buy many more to give out as gifts this holiday season! I highly recommend this book. |

| This is the sweetest book I've ever bought. When I picked up this book in the bookstore I sat on the floor in the middle of the aisle and just started glowing as I went through the whole book page by page- It truly captures our sweet canine companions at their best. The photos are amazing and the sayings fit perfectly. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has a love for dogs. It will brighten your day and make you laugh out loud. It captures our animals true spirits. |

| As an amateur photographer and animal lover, I'm on the lookout for dog portraits that are something special - this book has them! The photos are divine and the "meanings" of each subject's name are terrific. You get a real feeling for each dog's personality, something which is missing from so many so-called "great" animal portraits. If you love dogs and want to have a great coffee table book, or give it as a gift, this is the one! |
